WHAT IS SAM REGISTRATION AND WHY IS IT NECESSARY?
SAM stands for the System for Award Management and is a database that was established in the fall of 2012. This main database was created in order to consolidate the capabilities of several other systems such as CCR/FedReg, ORCA, and EPLS and serves as the central US federal contractor registration system. There will be different phases that are ongoing during the migration processes, which is part of an overall Integrated Acquisition Environment. We have years of expertise in expediting the G-SAP contractor registration process through the official government website.
How SAM Registration Benefits Contractors?
Making sure your business is certified and registered in the SAM database eliminates the need to update and maintain your accounts and registrations in many different federal government sites so that you can be considered for government contract work. The SAM database has eliminated the need to manage your registration accounts which require multiple usernames and passwords on multiple sites. With SAM, you now have one renewal registration date and you are less likely to experience any interruptions in your ability to be awarded federal contracts or grants.
How Can I Be Guaranteed My Registration Is Migrated Correctly?
Due to the fact that SAM has now been implemented, it is critical that you read through all of the government documentation in order to accurately complete this migration process. Our registration and certification experts are here to help you navigate through the process to ensure that your small business is in full compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).

If you want to bid on government proposals, you will need to get a D-U-N-S Number for each physical location of your business.
The System for Award Management (SAM) is the federal government's primary source for identifying potential vendors. Every federal agency, both civilian and military, utilizes the SAM database. Many federal contract officers initially determine whether a contract should be set-aside exclusively for 8(a), HUBZone, woman-owned, or service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses based on firms identifying themselves with these designations in SAM. Prime contractors also use SAM to identify potential subcontractors and suppliers, with emphasis on the various small business socio-economic categories like those just mentioned. Even state and local governments sometimes consult the federal database to find potential vendors who are interested in the broader governmental marketplace. In addition, all businesses, non-profits, and units of state and local government must be registered in SAM in order to receive federal payments and disbursements against contracts and grants.
The DSBS is also a tool contracting officers use to identify potential small business contractors for upcoming contracting opportunities. Small businesses can also use DSBS to identify other small businesses for teaming and joint venturing.
FedBizOpps (FBO) is a Federal governments website (fedbizopps.gov) used for federal procurement opportunities. Users can search the site for government contract opportunities greater than $25,000.
